Women’s History Month March 2026
THURSDAY, MARCH 19 from 5:30-7:30
The local chapter of the League of Women Voters is once again collaborating with the Carteret County Historical Society to host our annual reception for Women’s History Month at the History Museum of Carteret County,1008 Arendell Street in MHC, on Thursday, March 19th from 5:30 – 7:30. Our theme this year is “Leading the Change- Women Shaping a Sustainable Future”
This is a fundraiser for the Carteret County League of Women Voters and the History Museum, so we are asking for a donation of $10.00 per individual at the door from you and others who attend. We will have a speaker, appetizers, desserts, beverages, a silent auction and entertainment. We appreciate your support! This reception is open to the entire community, and we are excited to celebrate you and others whose advocacy has made a difference in the lives of others. Let us know by March 1st if you plan to join us. Thank you!
Quilt Collection Exhibit – One Week Only
Saturday March 21 – March 27 During Business Hours: Tuesday – Saturday 10am-4pm
Celebrate National Quilt Month with a display of Carteret County Quilts from the museum’s collection, with select pieces dating to the mid 1800s.
KaKaLak Reception – Poetry Reading with Kakalak Poets Saturday, April 25 2pm – 3:30pm
Kakalak 2025 is out now and available for purchase at the History Museum of Cateret County. Come join us on Saturday, April 25, 2026 at 2pm to hear the talents of Kakalak’s poets from Eastern NC.
